Seeds, grains and pulses ยท Italy and Europe

The market for agricultural raw materials, digitised.

OnlyTons collects and organises what is produced and what is available โ€” now, shortly, or from a harvest still to be planned. Modern and heritage varieties for human and animal consumption, with the emphasis on organic, certified and field-traceable production tied to a specific territory.

Example โ€” how availability is published

Three kinds of availability, one catalogue

Most marketplaces only show what is in a warehouse today. This one is built around the agricultural cycle, so supply can be secured before it exists.

  1. Available now

Stock ready to move, with its certifications and general terms set out on a technical data sheet.

  2. Becoming available shortly

Harvests already in the ground, published as an availability window months before they are cut.

  3. Still to be planned

Production that does not exist yet. Describe what you will need and the portal works out internally who could grow it.

A managed market, not a directory

The portal makes products, availability and territories visible โ€” not companies. Every enquiry, negotiation and message passes through it.

  • Profiles are not contact pages

A registered operator's business identity and contact details are never searchable and never shown to another operator. There is no way to look a company up here.

  • Operators never reach each other directly

No address, no telephone number, no email address. Requests are addressed to the portal, which decides what is forwarded and in what form.

  • Every step is checked and recorded

The portal verifies that a transaction is compatible before it proceeds, and logs each step so the chain can be reconstructed afterwards.

How operator privacy works

Who it is for

  • Farms and primary producers

Publish what you hold and what you expect to harvest, without exposing the farm behind it.

  • Trading companies

Buy and resell without processing, and declare both sides of the market you work in.

  • Processors and food manufacturers

Mills, canning businesses and manufacturers who buy raw material and sell what they make from it.

  • Agronomists, technicians and consultants

Follow the market and support operators. An advisor is never a counterparty and is never published.

  • Buyers, purchasers and importers

Source raw materials for human or animal consumption, from stock today or against a future harvest.

Small farms, local growers and producers at the margins of the market are explicitly in scope: a listing gets the same visibility whether it comes from ten hectares or a thousand.

What you can do

Eight use cases, mirrored: everything the buying side can do has a selling counterpart.

Buying

  • Find a product available now and ask the portal about it.
  • Secure a harvest months before it is cut.
  • Describe what you need and let the portal find who can supply it.
  • Commission production on land that is free for the coming season.

Selling

  • Publish stock that is ready to move.
  • Publish an availability window for a harvest still in the field.
  • Be matched to open requirements without ever being named.
  • Offer cultivable land, or land available for option, for planned production.

How a transaction works

  1. Search, or publish

Find a product through the finder, or publish your own availability or requirement.

  2. Send the portal a request

A request for further details, an expression of interest or a purchase proposal โ€” addressed to the portal, never to the operator.

  3. The portal filters and forwards

Compatibility is checked, messages are reviewed before they travel, and anything that would identify an operator is taken out.

  4. Terms are agreed and traced

Product, quantity, quality standards, certifications and schedule are recorded together with the documentary chain behind them.

Digital transition and ecological transition

Digitising how availability is published and matched is also how the chain gets shorter, cleaner and less wasteful.

What changes in the chain

  • Raw materials of known, certified and field-traceable origin.
  • Valorisation of seeds and agricultural by-products, and less waste along the chain.
  • Shorter procurement lead times and fewer information gaps.
  • Crop planning and more efficient use of cultivable land.

Where it operates

Italy and the rest of Europe first, in Italian and English. Expansion to the United States and Asia follows once language, regulatory, tax, logistics and technology requirements have been adapted to each market.

Being built next

Live today: the catalogue, the finder, restricted profiles, internal matching, filtered requests, land and future harvests, reliability ratings, written agreements, documentary traceability and notifications. The modules below follow, each released once it has been technically and legally validated.

  • In developmentAI-assisted matching and demand forecasting, always under human oversight.
  • In developmentBlockchain as an optional audit layer, subject to a technical, energy and data-protection assessment.
  • In developmentTokenised production availability โ€” a booking or option over a stated area, crop and period. Never ownership of land, and never a financial instrument.
